One Two Three Guys And a Truck

Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester to Connecticut Movers

Licensed and insured · Family business since 1999

Westchester shares a long border with Connecticut. A family in Rye or Port Chester can see the state line from the highway. Still, a move across that line is an interstate move, with federal rules and its own truck roads. One Two Three Guys And a Truck plans it from the Bronx, upper Manhattan and every part of Westchester.

We move you between the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and Connecticut. We do not do moves that start and end inside Connecticut.

Shore towns or hill towns: two different routes

For towns on the shore, the truck takes I-95. From the Bronx it is the Bruckner or the Cross Bronx to I-95 north, then the New England Thruway past New Rochelle and Rye. From central Westchester, I-287 runs east from White Plains to meet I-95 near Port Chester. Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and Norwalk sit right along this road. Our guide to why the truck takes I-95, not the Merritt explains the shore route in more detail.

For towns in the hills, like Danbury and the towns around it, the truck goes north instead. I-684 runs from White Plains toward Brewster, and I-84 then heads east into Danbury and on to Waterbury and Hartford.

Westchester has many parkways, and moving trucks cannot use them. The Hutchinson River Parkway, the Bronx River Parkway, the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Taconic State Parkway are closed to trucks and commercial vehicles. In Connecticut, the Merritt Parkway is closed to them too. If you drive your car on the Hutch, do not expect to see the truck behind you.

From Riverdale apartments and Westchester houses

A Riverdale co-op often asks for a certificate of insurance and a set elevator time. We provide COI. A Westchester house may have a long driveway, a hill or a narrow road. Tell us what the truck will face at both homes, and we will plan the truck size for it.

How your things are covered

Before an interstate move, you choose how your goods are protected. This is called valuation.

  • Full value protection: if an item is lost or damaged, the mover repairs it, replaces it or pays its current value.
  • Released value: this costs nothing extra, but it pays only 60 cents per pound for each item.

Pick the one that fits your things. Your choice goes on the bill of lading.

Federal paperwork

We are A & A Alliance Moving Inc, U.S. DOT No. 967970, MC-432549, an FMCSA-authorized interstate household-goods carrier. You get a written estimate, the FMCSA booklet "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move," and a bill of lading on moving day.

Common questions

Is a move from Westchester to Greenwich really interstate?

Yes. It crosses from New York into Connecticut, so federal moving rules apply, even if the drive is short.

Do you move people from Connecticut to Westchester or the Bronx?

Yes. We load in Connecticut and deliver to your new home in Westchester, the Bronx or Manhattan.

Can you handle a short move between two Connecticut towns?

No. Both ends would be in Connecticut. We only take moves that cross the state line to or from New York or New Jersey.
